I sent this memory to your cell phone just minutes before midnight marked the beginning of your 20th birthday. No matter how many years go by, I never want to forget the beginning of our life with you! Just as your arrival was an adventure, so you've made each new stage a roller coaster of memories. We love our "Didher," "Sissy," "Cheetah," "Chee-tang-ah," "Isa" and even the "Izzy" of camp and college fame!
One of the unfortunate realities of adult life is that sometimes we don't get to be with our family on birthdays, and this year you find yourself once again working in the kitchen at High Point Camp during the summer. Aunt Jenn helped us obtain the ice cream cake you requested before they traveled and I know your hopeful plans included a girls' movie night, but what most made me happy was the picture you sent with the "Happy Birthday" crown and your small group "siblings" so I could see you were not alone. I pray God will continually surround you with His precious people throughout your life and that you will always know the love of Christian family even when ours might be far apart.
Isabel, your 20th year once again holds transition and new goals, places and faces but your Savior will never leave you nor forsake you. Follow Him in hope and faith and anticipation! I truly believe He has great things in store as you cling to Him while pursuing the dreams He has placed on your heart. From the day you were born fighting for your life, you've never given up and I pray you never will! God loves you deeply and so do Dad and I. Happy 20th birthday, precious daughter!
