Dear Isabel,

We were both still bleary-eyed with sleep when I knelt by your bed to wish you Happy Birthday this morning. Despite some waking grogginess your million-watt smile lit up the room and I was reminded of how ever since your sister turned ten last year, you have anxiously awaited this special milestone! Daddy and I have, too, yet we celebrate these "double digits" with happiness mixed with just a twinge of sadness realizing how quickly the years are flying by.

God's work in your life has been evident since before you were even born, and it has been such a joy to watch as each year you learn more about Him and grow in your faith. You have been growing in other ways as well, becoming more and more a young lady who is beautiful inside and out. This year you have begun to enjoying listening to good Christian music on your own time, and collecting colorful earrings and pretty things.

Our prayer for you is and has always been that you will truly know Jesus as your very best Friend, and God as your loving Heavenly Father who delights in giving good gifts to His children. We know He has a special plan for your future and look forward to seeing it unfold in His perfect time. You are very special, and we love you very much!
