"Make new friends, but keep the old;
One is silver and the other, gold."
One is silver and the other, gold."
... or so goes the song! Today I had the privilege of spending a short while with one of my oldest and dearest friends from elementary/jr. high/high school shortly before she and her husband and five kids were scheduled to fly back to the United States.
It was too quick a visit, but a reminder that some friendships endure the tests of time and distance and that it is possible to pick up where you left off, be it months or even years later.
(And of course, it is always fun to watch your own and your friend's children interact for the first time. Guaranteed for some laughs!)
Thanks, Alisha, for welcoming us in your final busy hours of this trip to Chile. God bless and speed you on your way back "home!"
