A couple of weeks ago, Eva approached me with a copy of my poetry book in hand. She wanted to know if she could have one, and after a few moments' thought I agreed. It was the sweetest thing to see her carrying that book around so proudly and reading the poems aloud. She went outside to the front yard and sat in the sun reading for awhile, then eventually tucked the book away in her backpack to take to school and show her friends.
Before I gave her the book, I wrote in the front: "For my precious daughter Eva ... because the journey led me first of all to you."
And I'm so glad it did.

Eva is so beautiful. When we have a girl I hope she is a lot like Eva : )!
