As I mentioned in a previous post, my sister Terri and her husband Dave are beginning the process to adopt a little girl from China. Their first major expense will be fees for their application, first agency fee, and homestudy ... a total of about $4300. In order to fund this segment, they are beginning a cookbook fundraiser and are looking for creative and willing contributors! Here are the details:
Do you like to cook? Do you have a favorite family recipe or two? Then we could use your help! We are going to publish the "Forever Family Cookbook" as an adoption fundraiser. I need at least 250 different recipes from at least 150 different individuals, so...please pass the word to families, friends, Sunday School classes, women's groups, etc., etc.! I would love to receive recipes from around the world...in fact, it would be really neat for people to submit favorite family recipes that highlight their family's heritage. You can send recipes to me via e-mail at tfisher83@myexcel.com, or, you can click here for a .pdf file that you can print, fill in, and send to Terri Fisher, PO Box 146, Jonestown, PA 17038. Please include your name and, if you know it, the "heritage" of the recipe (english, german, chilean, etc.) so that they can be included in the cookbook. Feel free to print several forms and pass them to friends and family, and if you have a blog, please help us get the word out...we need all the recipes we can get! Recipes can be for anything edible, so pull out those recipe boxes, old cookbooks, and tattered pieces of paper, and get typing...or writing...so we can bring Sophia home! (And stay tuned to our blog to learn how you can order a cookbook soon!)

Thanks, Steph! And I'm glad Owen and you are back home safe and sound. I can totally relate to your feelings when restraining Owen as I vividly remember having to do the same with Benjamin. There is never a dull moment as a parent!
Hi Stephanie,
I wanted to email you, but have lost your address. I am the missionary in Iquique who contacted you many months ago with questions about adoption in Chile. I just wanted to let you know that we've been going through the process with SENAME for about 8 months now. We've passed the psychological and social worker's review and are now working on some paperwork. Things look really good and we hope to be officially approved soon and to receive a baby before next year. Thank you so much for the advice you gave us before. And, we pray for you and your two little boys in Haiti.
Peace, Anna
