Checking Up on Ian & Alec

A little less than a year ago, I wrote a post sharing Ian and Alec's height and weight growth after a visit to the doctor's office. At that point the boys had been home from Haiti for five months and were already growing by leaps and bounds.

This visit confirmed they are rapidly growing still . Not that we couldn't tell just by looking - both boys moved into 3t clothing last month and Ian's pants are already short on him! :)
Ian now weighs 31.7 lbs (53rd percentile) and is 3 ft, 3 1/2 in (88th percentile) tall. This is a gain of about 6 lbs and a height increase of 3 1/2 inches in 11 months. It's a total gain of 8 lbs and 5 1/2 inches since coming home in January 2010.

Alec now weighs 36.6 lbs (95th percentile) and is 3 ft, 3/4 in (55th percentile) tall. This is a gain of about 7 lbs and height increase of almost 3 inches in 11 months. It's a total gain of 12 lbs and almost 6 inches since coming home in January 2010.
According to the doctor, Ian has gone from being underweight to completely within normal range for his age and he has zoomed to the top of the height charts. Alec is technically overweight for his age (to which anyone who has tried to pick him up can attest!) but given the fact that he has grown so much in height simultaneously, he is currently "A-OK."

We praise God for two healthy, happy boys who make our home busier and louder and fuller than ever before. We are so thankful for Ian and Alec and the special place they have in our home and in our hearts!
