September is kite flying weather in Chile, and our city of Iquique is no exception! One day last week Daddy took our family to the beach and we bought a $2 plastic kite from a vendor on the boardwalk. Chile's beautiful paper kites are actually more traditional but a little less durable for our kind of group. :)
The wind was fairly brisk and so the kids were able to get the kite elevated a number of times with Daddy's help. It didn't take long for them to be distracted by the sand and surf and other friendly children on the beach, but the kite flying was fun while it lasted!
