I recently felt my eyes pricked with tears while reading the status update of a newly graduated MK (missionary kid) from our field here in Chile. She wrote about heading to the airport "one more time" before it was her turn to leave. I was reminded once again of the emotions of saying goodbye so many times, and how for missionary children those goodbyes are a bittersweet thread that runs through the fabric of their growing up years.
Today it was our children's turn to say goodbye to another set of grandparents. We are so thankful for the time we were given together and though the parting is always sad it makes seeing one another again that much sweeter. We only wish the time in between could be shorter sometimes!
Below are a final couple of pictures I especially liked that my mom took while she was here:

Grandparents are similar to a piece of string -
handy to have around and easily wrapped
around the fingers of their grandchildren.
