"Tios" from the Teleton

Happy 62nd Anniversary, Teleton

The organization which provides physical therapy for our daughter Isabel and for thousands of children throughout Chile is called the Teleton. This week they celebrated their 62nd anniversary with games and special events, culminating in a party for all the patients and their families. Isabel and I attended this morning (more on that in my next post) and she wanted pictures with each of the "tios" who are special to her. "Tio" or "tia" literally means "uncle" or "aunt" in Spanish and children in Chile politely use this to address the adults with whom they interact on a regular basis such as teachers (or in this case, therapists.) From occupational therapy to physical therapy to hippotherapy and aquatherapy, Isabel has received excellent care and kindness from each of the individuals pictured below and for that we are very thankful!
