¿Quien Quiere Comprar Esto?

Perhaps Eva has a future in sales and marketing.

Her latest venture has been an attempt to sell seashells to passersby outside our front gate, despite the fact that Mommy gently tried to tell her that they might not be a hot item to sell since everyone can go to the beach themselves here.

Her best customers are her brother and sister, who scrounge around for coins to buy the shells off of her. She wheels and deals with them so craftily that they don't even know - and certainly don't care - that they are getting fleeced by their older sister! :)

Honestly, I really wish she wouldn't do it. It's kind of embarrassing. But since I went door to door selling homemade braided bracelets and recycled greetings cards (recycled by me and my trusty cardstock and glue stick, that is) when I was just a little older that her, I don't feel I have much grounds for refusal!

The most hilarious thing is her catchy little vendor's tune. Here in Chile, there are street vendors who will pass by selling newspapers or ice cream or gas tank refills, and each one has a slightly different little ditty they sing to get your attention. Apparently Eva has either consciously or subconsciously caught on to that, because Pedro and I heard her sing-songing ¿Quien quiere comprar esto? (Who want to buy this?) as she sat outside and waited for her elusive customers. Of course I had to try and get it on video. Unfortunately, she specifically forbade me to put it on the blog so you'll just have to take my word for how cute it was! :)

I'd buy one if she was closer. Wish we could go to the beach!

Awww...I was looking forward to the video! I can't wait until Miss Eva and Auntie Terri can go shopping together someday! Remember to save some of those pesos, Eva! (I wonder if Eva will try her Mommy's other trick for getting money when she gets a bit older...weasling it off of BOTH siblings without one or the other realizing it!) :)

I wish I was closer, I would buy for sure. I'd also take her to the beach to restock as needed.

I wish I was closer too...they are fun to mosaic with!

It must be a phase because Vin has a "store" set up in his room right now,
hawking "baby books" and his dad's Hotwheels cars.

I don't have a leg to stand on. Obviously.

Beautiful wares! I would like some for my birthday from Eva. Grandma will wait and see what comes in the mail. This post is darling. I wished I could have seen that video, Eva. Please let Mommy tape you so I can see you. I have seen Isabel do ballet and Owen do exercises. Won't you let me hear your sales song in Spanish no less?
