Nathan & Tricia Update

Today I received the nicest comment on my blog ... it was from Tricia's dad! Her dad wrote:
It is my pleasure to meet you through your blog. It is amazing to realize how close you can be but separted by so many miles. I am Tricia's dad. I appreciate so much you taking the time to include her request on your blog. The Lord allowed Tricia to be an important of our family by adoption. She has been such a blessing to us and her five sibblings. May the Lord bless you in your work as you serve HIM.

Nathan writes the following updates on his wife and daughter:
Gwyneth continues to be the most healthy 25 week preemie in the history of the world! Everyone tells us that there will be some complications at some point, and while we are bracing for something, we also believe that she could continue to be the miracle to prove them all wrong ...
Tricia is the same ... They have her on an incredibly small amount of sedatives...she'd literally wake up in less than 10 minutes if the shut it off. But, they are still worried that she would have serious issues with the vent if they did so, and they will continue to try to wean her off the vent as her body and lungs regain it's strength.

He also wrote a post that is so worth reading, entitled "Not Sad" (
http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/2008/01/not-sad.html) ... I've highlighted the following from that post:
Sad is the furthest emotion from my heart these past few days and weeks. I have never experienced so much joy packed into such a short period of time in my entire life.
Pain? Yes!
Frustration? You bet!
Helplessness? Duh!

But, no sadness here.

I've seen members of my own family return to God, heard from couples who have considered their marriage more deeply, read of mothers who have hugged their kids more tightly, seen Duke staff by Tricia's bedside in prayer, witnessed the increased faith in a real and tangible God of so many strangers and friends, and been told of people coming to know my God for the very first time...all because He has chosen to use Tricia, and now Gwyneth in an eternal way.

This is a story of Hope in the future, Joy for the present and Blessings for the past. It is a story of a God Who takes a left turn just as you are moving right, Who shows you the mountain top while others see the valley, Who never leaves nor forsakes you, and Who is bringing you to a destination that is unfathomably beyond anything you could have desired for yourself.
