This week I have spent some time visiting a very special website called Reece’s Rainbow. It is a site dedicated to finding homes for children with Down Syndrome, and raising grant monies to assist with their adoptions. On this site I met a little boy from Ecuador named Josué and he captured my heart. He is Afro-Ecuadorian and was abandoned at birth, presumably because of being born with Downs. At two years old, he is loved and cared for in a children’s home but is waiting for a forever home of his very own.
Yet his is just one of dozens of beautiful smiles from around the world pictured on the website. For Christmas, the ministry is trying to bless these children with the “gift of family” by raising at least $1,000 in grant monies for each child.
