Today my sister and I went shopping at Jumbo for school supplies and groceries. $92,000 pesos (about $175 dollars) later, I left with a cart full of glues, papers, pens, scissors, and some groceries. Check out this school list from Isabel's school (it is so detailed, it even has sizes and brands for the different items - sorry it's sideways!):
Here are some of the groceries I brought home, for anyone interested in Chilean food ... boxes of juice and milk for school snacks:

Children's yogurt (Chileans eat a LOT of yogurt, and the kids love this brand because the packages are small and heart-shaped):
Of course, fresh bread! Marraquetas and hayuyas (not sure if I spelled that right):
Coke is universal, of course, and the juices here are delicious! These are orange and peach:

I have to agree with the previous comment - it is so neat to read your blog and "live in Chile" through your blog...but is ure is tough to not get jealous=)

We have almost all the school supplies, but we apparently bought the wrong kind of ball, so we're still hunting for that -- ! :)
