It rang and rang and rang.
The telephone.
Yesterday.
Each time, I picked the phone up on the first or second ring, but waited until the third or fourth ring to answer. All the while I was praying, please let this be The Call, please let this be The Call ...
It never was.
Sometimes that is far more frustrating that not having it ring at all.
