A friend of mine posed this question on her Xanga site. I found it very interesting to consider! Just a few years ago, the word "blog" was not even part of my vocabulary - yet now it is something I do on a regular basis. I've tried keeping a (handwritten) journal over the years, yet it has been sporadic at best. What is it about blogging online that keeps me going? Here is how I answered my friend's question:
I blog to keep long-distance friends and family aware of what is happening in my family's life and ministry ... to journal experiences and thoughts that otherwise might be lost in the busyness of the day ... to hopefully encourage others who may be experiencing similar struggles or challenges ... to add some sanity and adult "conversation" to this adventure of raising three young children ... and to use the talent/enjoyment for writing that God has placed in me!
So, why do you blog?

My response to Julie was just the same as you - to keep others up to date on what is going on with us! I miss our dear friends from times past, and this way I feel closer to them (and you)! Love, Wendy
Good question! Because the world needs artistic expression!
