Family times

Amidst the busyness of our current stage of life, we do try to make a conscious effort to share some special family times together. This past weekend, we made a mini-vacation out of a trip to Grand Rapids for a Sunday speaking engagement. Thanks to Priceline we found a good hotel rate, and we spent Saturday at the Frederick Meijer Gardens with the kids.

What a neat experience! Eva and Isabel had a blast in the children's garden with all of its hands-on activities. The gardens have a replica of the Great Lakes (filled with water, of course!) and the kids can float boats through the Lakes and down waterfalls. They can get as wet as they want. Or, they can choose to make sand sculptures, or log cabins out of life-sized Lincoln Logs! They can even have a tea party or walk on swinging bridges or visit a replica of a Michigan farm. We wore ourselves out with all the fun - Isabel slept for 13 1/2 hours straight that night!

We are so thankful for our children, our blessings from God!
