Radio Silence

three little goofballs

In telecommunications, radio silence is "a status in which all fixed or mobile radio stations in an area are asked to stop transmitting for safety or security reasons."

In the Garcias2Chile blogland, radio silence is "a status in which silence represents the opposite of itself, namely, chaos."

Well, maybe chaos is slightly too strong a word. But busy - really, really, really busy - that would work!

Most likely the blog will remain silent for a time as we are T-79 hours and counting until departure from Iquique.

Our days are spent sweating through final house preparation details and racing around town to pay bills, get vaccinations, locate important documents, secure notarized permissions, and coordinate with the realtor who is still seeking a renter. Our nights this week are dedicated to a number of last-minute invitations from friends and acquaintances who wanted to say goodbye and with whom we hope for a final opportunity to share Christ once again.

See you on the other side of "silence!" :)
