If you are not prone to carsickness, then you may enjoy these three videos which record our approach via desert highway to the town of Pisagua, Chile. (I should have included these in my four-part series on Pisagua but did not remember them until now.)
The first video gives an idea of the curves I previously described as "around and down, around and down" through the desert mountains. The second provides the experience of finally emerging into a clearing and heading down one more long, snaking stretch of road. And the third - along with some amusing dialogue as the kids are alternately excited and scared throughout the experience - presents the impressive downward route into the town itself.
Enjoy! :)
