Update from Santiago

Today we received this update from my brother-in-law in Santiago:
Tonight I got back to the house at about 23:30 after dropping some stuff off at the La Reina church for the trip tomorrow. Pastor Christian Contreras, his son Alejandro, Daniel Pineda and Gonzalo Ugalde will be making a trip down to Chiguayante to deliver food and water. Through the contact of JUBAM (Juventud Bautista Misionera), of which Pastor Contreras is the director, there was an unbelievable amount of clothes and food donated to the work in Chiguayante. Definitely they will have more than they can fit into the station wagon they'll be driving down!

They will be loading at 3:30 a.m. and departing around 4:00 a.m.

We really need to pray for the following:

1) Safety and strength on the long journey (8.5 hours one way)
2) Angelic escort through Concepcion where the looting, vandalism and violence has been taking place - there is a risk involved and we need to pray them through this for God's glory
3) The edification and evangelism that will occur when the food and water is delivered to the Maldonados, their church, and whomever else may receive
4) Safety and strength on the way back as they'll be really tired

The most exciting thing is to see the unity of the churches involved in this effort. Multiple churches from Santiago are banding together with the church in Chiguayante to help it and help it reach its community in these difficult times.

To God be the glory for His lovingkindess endures forever!
