This morning, Owen attended soccer school for the second time and received his uniform. He was so happy! And we are happy to have found such a good fit for him, thanks to a couple of others moms from church who also have their sons in the program. The coach works at their school so they know him well and have full confidence in him. The program is only for boys and is divided by ages; Owen is in the 3-7 year old group which meets Saturday mornings from 9 - 10:30 a.m.
Parents aren't allowed to stay and distract the kids, but one of the moms lives next door on the 17th floor of an apartment building so I was able to watch from above on the first day. It's not all about running around and playing games, but also about running drills and learning the plays and following instructions. The coach is kind but no-nonsense; just what the boys need! I'm so glad Owen has this outlet and so far he loves it. Not to mention he is the just the cutest thing ever in his new soccer jersey! Don't you agree?? :)
