Sharing the Beach with Friends

Last night we invited the Spink family to join us at the Los Lobitos beach for some fun and fellowship. It was their first visit to this particular beach and there was no one else there but us on a cool and cloudy evening in Iquique (just the way we like it!) With the clouds hanging low and surrounded by sandy mountains and salty sea, it felt like we were in a world all of our own.

Eva, Isabel and Kari spent most of the evening pulling seaweed "pets" behind them across the sand. Meanwhile, the men built a bonfire out of an enormous pile of cardboard boxes left over from the Spinks' recent move to Iquique. That was fun (and perfectly legal on this beach, I should add!) The two boys, Owen and Josh, did some exploring until eventually we started a guys against girls soccer game. With some good-nature teasing, we played a hard-fought game and had a great time.

We're thankful for the colleagues God has allowed us to work alongside and for the times we can let down and enjoy these times of sharing together!
