Pedro completed the details of our vehicle purchase today. Hooray! We now have a 1996 Toyota Ipsum to call our own. It is uniquely an Iquique vehicle in that it underwent a change of steering column position upon arrival in Chile from Japan. In fact, because of that it cannot be fully insured beyond the minimum required by law - but we do anticipate purchasing a larger and newer family vehicle in the future with original steering. (The one we are looking for is not available in Iquique right now but should be in a few months.)
But for now, we've got wheels! What freedom! We are so relieved and so thankful ... also, very appreciative of our friends who have loaned us their second vehicle as they were able to over the past couple of months. Thank you, Lord!
