Garcia Prayer Update, Aug 31 '08

Dear Praying Friends,

This coming week holds some very important ministry opportunities that we would like to share with you as a matter of specific and urgent prayer.

As many of you know from our presentation in your churches, an area of special interest for us is that of crisis pregnancy ministry. We are excited that this week, ABWE missionary and Baptists for Life international training consultant Evelyn Stone will be coming to Chile to carry out a whirlwind five days of ministry focused on pro-life issues. She will be presenting at our MK school, our seminary, and in 4-5 secular public schools (addressing literally thousands of unsaved students.) She will also be providing training for all of our ABWE churches by means of a special conference on Saturday, September 6.

While abortion is illegal in Chile, some published studies indicate that in fact Chile may have the highest abortion rate in Latin America. In addition, sexual promiscuity and its accompanying consequences are devastating the youth of this nation. They need to be told the truth about these issues within a Biblical framework, which is exactly what will take place this week. In addition, our churches need to be informed about this reality and how they can reach out to those who are hurting with the love and compassion of Christ.

Please pray with us that a great victory will be won for Christ throughout this week. Pray for wisdom, strength, clarity, safety, and open doors of opportunity. Stephanie is in charge of Evelyn's schedule and will be responsible for many details of her time here in Chile. Already, some unexpected events have reminded us that this is truly a spiritual battle and we are treading on the enemy's territory.

Because of this, we again ask you to please cover this week in prayer with us and we look forward with anticipation to sharing with you all that God will accomplish as a result!
