Yup, that's us.
Yesterday we were stopped at a police checkpoint and Pedro was asked for his driver's license and Chilean ID card. Unfortunately, the ID cards for our entire family have expired and we have not yet received the necessary letter from the Chilean government indicating that our permanent residency paperwork is in process. According to the immigration office we visited a couple of weeks ago, we have 60 days of grace from the expiration of our paperwork, but ...
What sounded reassuring when the immigration officer said it ... didn't feel quite so reassuring when a policeman was staring us down and questioning our status!
So if you happen to think of it, please pray that we hear back from the government soon and can get ourselves "regularized" without further complications ... that would be SO nice!!

Hi Stephanie! Just stopped in and saw your most recent posting about your ID cards expiring. I will try to remember that in prayer this week and hope for a smooth resolution. Thank you for sharing your reflections with me - looking forward to following along with you here in the blog world!
I imagine that I would be nervous even if I had the right paperwork, let alone trying explain why I didn't. Never a dull moment for you all! We will pray.
