Our Church

Thanks to some recent visitors (aka Karen Heald!) I have a few pictures of our church to share. We attend Iglesia Bautista Esperanza Viva (Living Hope Baptist Church) and love it! After visiting the majority of ABWE churches during our first six months here in Chile, it was a blessing to settle into this ministry and begin to build relationships and participate in God's work in San Bernardo.

This church is actually a "daughter" church to another ABWE work. It was started by a group of several couples who had a vision for starting a church in their own neighborhood. They would attend their home church in the morning, and in the evening they would hold home Bible studies. As you can tell from these pictures, God blessed their faithfulness and a new local church was indeed born! Most of those original couples continue to make up the foundation of this ministry along with many new believers, and there is a sweet spirit of fellowship that is evident when you visit here.

Pedro had the opportunity to take several weeks of Sunday School to teach through the book of Acts. How exciting to see him carrying out the ministry for which he prepared through so many years of seminary and language training!

A couple of years ago, this church building came into existence through the building ministry of CWE (Construction for Worldwide Evangelism.) Another incredible blessing!

I really enjoy seeing pictures of your church and the ministry you are a part of. It's so awesome for me to remember that Christ's Body of Believers stretches across land and oceans.
