Around 10:30 Saturday night, we received a phone call from the guard on duty at the school. He was just calling at that hour to let us know that we had two packages waiting for us in the guard shack! Of course, we were very curious and excited to stop by after church on Sunday to find out what they were ...
One was for Eva and the other for Owen, from friends in Texas (both husband and wife are MK's from Chile and even attended our MK school here!) The wife wrote to me awhile back saying their family wanted to "adopt" our kids and send them treats from the States on their birthdays and such, because she remembered someone doing that for her family while they were on the mission field and how special it was.
Owen slowly pulled out his treats one by one, everything from plastic dinosaurs and bugs to cars and candy (Skittles, Twizzlers, Starbursts, yummy) and more.
Eva was excited about her surprises - princess socks, this Barbie, candy, notebooks, pencil holder - I can't even remember it all but she was delighted!
She carefully laid out everything for this picture!
And sweet Isabel understood that her turn for a birthday package will come in a few months, so she was just happy to celebrate with her brother and sister. Owen and Eva did end up sharing candy with her, which she greatly enjoyed. For Isabel's picture, she wanted to show off her two missing teeth!
Thank you so much to our special friends (you know who you are!)
