Happy Birthday, Caleb Isaiah

Four years ago today, my husband and I were holding a baby boy just three hours old and marveling at how beautiful and precious he was. We thought at the time that he was the answer to our many prayers for a son; but a week later we found ourselves taking the longest one-hour drive of our lives to tearfully return him to his mother, after she had change of heart regarding his adoption plan.

Hindsight is 20/20, or so they say, and today we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had a different plan in store for us ... as we marvel at our son Owen who was meant to be forever ours, as we rejoice in our growing daughters, and as we look forward to the precious twins awaiting us in Haiti.

But every February 17, I remember the sweet week spent with little Caleb Isaiah and I pray that his life will be rich and full and happy; and that most importantly, he will know and love Jesus Christ and become a strong man of God someday.

So Happy Birthday, Caleb ... may God bless you in a special way on your 4th birthday and always!
