I have never met Nathan and Tricia, but I have been touched by their story.
Theirs is a story of love, courage and faith in the face of heartbreak. While waiting for Tricia to receive a double lung transplant due to a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis, she and Nathan unexpectedly learned that God had chosen to bless them with their first child.
Choosing to continue the pregnancy and save their child’s life meant endangering Tricia’s life, as she was no longer able to be considered for the transplant.
Yet they have placed their future in God’s hands and are allowing Him to do as He wills with them.
Tricia is now in the hospital with very low lung capacity, attempting to get well enough to deliver their baby girl. Today, the doctors gave Nathan and Tricia the goal of reaching 26 weeks (January 18) in hopes that their tiny daughter will be able to survive.
Nathan wrote the following on his blog at http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/ :
If they both survive the next few days, then weeks, then months, I will have much to be thankful for. And, if either or both of them do not live through this, I know that they will be in Heaven at the feet of a very real God, and that one day I will see them again, and that is truly the greatest joy. I can't imagine not having that hope.
This family has asked that their story be shared so that more and more prayers might be raised on their behalf … and that is why I am sharing it with you.
Please pray!
