Lately I love to listen to Eva's prayers. It is always special to hear the kids pray, but recently she has begun to pray much more sincerely. For instance, this morning she thanked God for creating this whole world for us and for making a house for us in Heaven. I wonder what she pictures when she thinks of the house in Heaven, because she is very aware that our current home here on earth is quite small! In fact, the other day she told me that she thinks God is telling us to wait before He gives us another baby because "He wants us to wait until we have a bigger house, Mommy!"
But Eva is the most faithful pray-er in the family when it comes to our adoption plans. Her teacher tells me that she shares it as a prayer request every day in class, and she prays about it at home before every meal, bedtime, and even when we pray in the car. Her request goes like this: "And please give my family a baby Ian and two twins, one boy and one girl." Every so often the somewhat humorous/somewhat uneasy thought flickers through my mind, What if this adoption is taking so long because God is working on answering Eva's prayer request?? After all, she is the one with the most persistence and faith! Now that would be interesting ...
