Happy Birthday to my Husband

Today is my husband’s 35th birthday, and I want to take some time to share how special he is to me and to our children. I am so thankful that God chose Pedro as the one with whom I would share this “great adventure” of Life! The road has not always been easy for us, as we have worked through mistakes, misunderstandings, miscarriages (both physical and through adoption) and many moves … but I cannot imagine anyone else walking beside me. Pedro is faithful, caring, patient, and committed; he is fun, friendly, and smart; he will go the extra mile (and beyond!) for a friend; he feels genuine empathy for others and builds people up. Of course I could go on (and on and on) but here are the top three reasons that I love my husband and want to celebrate him on his special day:
  1. He truly desires to serve God faithfully with his life.
  2. He is my best friend and loves me despite my faults.
  3. He is an awesome daddy to our children.
The other day, a friend remarked to me that she and her husband were talking about Pedro and think that he is one of the best fathers they have ever seen. Their reason for saying so was that he does so much with our children, he is a hands-on dad, very involved in his kids’ lives. And this is so true! As I was trying to choose a picture for this post, I found photos of Pedro setting off balloons with Eva at a missions conference, holding Isabel on his lap at a picnic, getting wet with Owen at a water park, pushing the girls and their friends on a tire swing, holding his tiny newborn son in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. I finally settled on this picture, because it captures how comfortable he is with his three children all around him and how happy they are in Daddy’s company.
Happy Birthday, Pedro … We love you!

Happy Birthday Pedro!

This is a quote from Jathan "If anyone gives you a hard time about your age, just say 'Get off me!'" Then Jathan also wanted me to type from him "Happy Birthday Sweets"

On a serious note, Jathan and I are blessed to have you as part of our lives even if we are all far away from eachother.
