"El Jamoncito"

Every week or so, the missionary language school students are required to memorize a dialogue in Spanish. Students are then chosen by the teacher and assigned parts to orally dialogue in front of the class. In order to make this assignment more fun and exciting, Pedro came up with the idea of voting each week for the student who "hams it up" the most - or, plays the role most convincingly! The winning student will be awarded a trophy, which will then pass to the hands of the next winning student the following week. And so, we proudly present the work of Pedro's creative genius and hands! He purchased an elaborate candlestick, porcelain piggy, super glue, and gold spray paint to transform into this masterpiece ... a trophy entitled "El Jamoncito" (also fondly referred to in our family as "The Hammy" or "The Piggy!") Of course, the pressure is on Pedro because our girls really like his little masterpiece! So we are hearing these kinds of statements in our house: "Daddy, please study hard and do good because we want to keep The Piggy!" We'll see if Daddy can bring home the bacon ... umm, jamon!
