Waiting

This poem is a little rough around the edges, but it wanted to be "birthed" today ... A poem for the son we are hoping and praying for!

Waiting

The weeks and months are slipping past
While we wait for that special day when - at last!
You will come home.

We speak your name when we say our prayers
We think of you when another shares
The joy of a child’s birth.

We believe God’s hand is forming you
And His wisdom is weaving through
Hard choices being made.

We pray for those who know you best
For guidance and comfort and needed rest
As you still grow.

Yet we hope for you, we long for you
And we pray for God to lead you through
To our waiting arms.

It may be months or weeks or a day
But we will continue to trust and pray
Until you come home!
