First Day of School, Part 2

It is actually the close of the girls' second day of school as I write this. So far, they seem to be enjoying this new phase of life! Isabel, though younger, is our social butterfly and her teacher has been very complimentary about how well she is doing. Eva is more timid in new situations and cried several times the first day, according to her teacher. She is especially fearful when the teacher steps out of the classroom for a moment - something those who have watched our children can attest to, as she wants an adult presence in view at all times!

Please pray for Eva's nervousness to subside and for both girls' adjustment to this new schedule. It is an early morning and a long day for them - breakfast at 6:30, beginning school at 8:00, and ending at 3:00. They do have a 40-minute rest time. Although Isabel can certainly keep up mentally, with her CP her body does require extra rest and that is why we have opted to send her to school only twice a week for now. Monday will be the first day that Eva attends alone, so both of the girls will need extra encouragement - Eva as she "goes solo" and Isabel as she will be disappointed to be left behind!

We are so proud of our girls and look forward to all that they will learn and accomplish this year. It is encouraging to know that the school will reinforce the godly values we desire to teach at home, and we pray that this might be the year that both girls trust Christ as their own personal Savior!

Love, Stephanie
