A few details about our cross-country trek ... I do think the 3 1/2 years of training really paid off! By which I mean, this past few years of traveling every weekend and also making a number of trips from Michigan to visit family in Delaware ... The girls were really fantastic, and Owen did a lot better than we'd even anticipated. He really does not like to be confined to that carseat, but he seemed to adapt to about 4-hour stretches before needing a break. We also discovered that if we pushed on for a few extra hours each night after the kids fell asleep in the car, we could make some good time and gain that many more miles before stopping for the night!
And yes, all this without a dvd player in the car! (I know, we're positively archaic!)

hey steph, glad to hear you made it to texas safely! you'll be there for a whole year? mom and i are in chile right now for a visit. we won't be coming home til the 12th. it's been so great to be back and to see how much things have changed...pretty crazy but good. i hope i'll get to see jenn before we go home...i need to get her phone number from miss muriel...well anyways, glad you guys are there safe!
