Special Ministry Opportunity

Dear Praying Friends,

We would like to share a special ministry opportunity that has presented itself to us in the coming year! On February 2-4, Baptists for Life and the New Life Prenatal Center in Lima, Peru are sponsoring their fifth international conference in Lima, and Stephanie has been invited to attend. The founder of the New Life Prenatal Center is Evelyn Stone, who along with her husband David has served for many years as an ABWE missionary in the country of Peru.

While the conference will feature speakers from both the United States and South America, what is most exciting to Stephanie is the opportunity to interact with the ladies who have founded pregnancy care centers in Peru and Colombia, and to visit the centers in Lima. Although abortion is illegal in both Chile and Peru, studies show that these two countries have the highest abortion rates in Latin America (some sources state that one woman in 20 aged 15-49 has an induced abortion in Chile and Peru.) We feel that God may use crisis pregnancy ministry as a bridge building opportunity in Chile and an asset to our church planting efforts, and would like to see firsthand how the centers are operating in Peru.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated as we make a decision on whether Stephanie will attend this conference. We have received permission from our administrator at ABWE to raise funds specifically for this trip, which we estimate will cost around $900 for travel and expenses, and gifts can be earmarked for "Acct 0132263 - Peru Conference." If anyone is interested in going with Stephanie to the conference, all sessions will be available in English (with Spanish translation). She would really love the company and plans to spend about one week in Peru. Please feel free to e-mail us or call us for more information. Thank you for your faithful prayers!

In Christ,

Pedro & Stephanie Garcia
